ARROW

TV Line spoke with lead actor Stephen Amell about last night's reveal of John Barrowman's character -- none other than Tommy Merlyn's father, Malcolm Merlyn.

“He’s certainly the most nefarious character we’ve met so far,” Amell told TV Line. “We don’t know a ton about him, just that whatever that symbol means in [Robert Queen's] book, and however that list was constructed, he’s not necessarily behind it but he’s the closest to the center we’ve gotten. He’s obviously the biggest threat that Oliver has, which is ironic, because they’ve never come together. So far.”

Here's a promo for the final episode of 2012, "Year's End."

Airs Wednesdays on the CW

GHOSTBUSTERS 3

Another day, another assurance from Dan Aykroyd that "Ghostbusters 3" is still chugging along. Aykroyd spoke in detail to Esquire, giving an honest opinion of where the production is currently at.

"I've worked on every draft in the last three years, as Ivan has, and now we have a story and a draft that everybody seems to agree would make the third movie," Aykroyd told Esquire. "At this point, I think we're closer than we ever have been. And because of the ever-shifting sands and nature of the motion-picture business, I will just say that hopefully, at some point, it will be morphing into what is known in the business as a [Aykroyd mimes air quotes] 'production number XP39789.' Then I will begin to rent cars, get hotel rooms, and bill for writing. But that point hasn't come. All my work has been gratis to this point, as Ivan's has, and I'm hoping that I can get that production number set up in L.A. and help everyone bring the movie to fruition, as the originator and creator of the concept. If it does not happen, the life of Dan Aykroyd and his family and friends will be quite full without 'Ghostbusters 3.'"

The ex-SNL cast member also spoke briefly about whether Bill Murray will be involved in the production should it ever happen.

"I have one-fifth of the voice, along with the partners and the other owner of the property, the picture company, and Ivan, Billy [Murray], and myself, and Harold [Ramis]," he said. "We all have to sign off on it unanimously -- uh, I'm not sure Billy does anymore, since he abrogated his rights by sort of, by saying, two years ago he said, "I don't want to be involved," and the picture company I think had some clause in there that if he actually passed on the third of fourth offer, he no longer has a view of the franchise. So, that's for the lawyers to decide. Of course, I'd love to have Billy call me tomorrow and say, 'Let's go to work and start writing.'"

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

Dennis Haysbert has been cast in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Haysbert will play Manute, replacing the late Michael Clarke Duncan, who played the character in "Sin City." While television fans will no doubt recognize Haysbert as President David Palmer from the early seasons of "24," many more know him as the longtime spokesman for Allstate insurance.

JUSTICE LEAGUE

Michael Caine spoke with The L.A. Times about his role as Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, and stated he'd be interested in returning to portray the character in possible future installments -- specifically "Justice League."

“I said to Chris, ‘If they do it again and they ask me to be the Butler, I’m going to do it,’” Caine told the L.A. Times, chuckling. “He said, ‘I want 10%.’”

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE

ComingSoon.net spoke with Rodrigo Santoro about his return as Xerxes in "300: Rise of an Empire" and how the actor prepared to reprise the role.

"I had to shave, I had to work out again, I had to go back to Xerxes," Santoro told ComingSoon. "It's the same character. There's little new things--a little before, a little after--but most of the movie, it's during… kind of the same time where the first movie takes place. There's a lot going on. It's hard, the green screen, it's a different way of working. It's really challenging to work that way and the character wears a lot and Xerxes is a giant. He's almost not human, which is a poetic license. It comes from a graphic novel so it's not based in real history, so that character is very very tall and his voice is like thunder and that's the description of this character. So there's a couple special FX and tricks that have to be done to accomplish that figure so I do scenes by myself. It's interesting, it's a lot of work."

THE HOBBIT

Peter Jackson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his strong desire to cast Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit."

Martin was the only person that we wanted for that role, and that was really before we met Martin," Jackson said. "We knew him from [the BBC's] The Office and Hitchhiker’s Guide [to the Galaxy], and we just felt he had qualities that would be perfect for Bilbo. The stuffy, repressed English quality. He’s a dramatic actor, he’s not a comedian, but he has a talent for comedy."

EVIL DEAD

Spinoff Online spoke with Jane Levy about her leading role in the upcoming "Evil Dead" and the type of effects she had to endure for the part.

"I feel like this was a pretty cool role for a young woman to be able to play. I got to go everywhere," Levy told Spinoff. "I start off, I’m a junkie – I’m addicted to heroin. I don’t want to give too much away, but there’s three main stages I go through in the film, and they are all completely different from each other. And one includes killing people. And I think, you know, I do scream a lot in the film and I’ll tell you – I have a pretty good scream. By the end of it, the sound guys would have to take their earphones out and everyone would have to wear earplugs. It was pretty loud. I’m proud of it. But I got to be a badass also – I’m not a young lady getting chopped up. I’m the one being pretty nasty. I don’t know if I’m going to have any friends after this movie!"
