Skybound and Skybound Asia, in collaboration with UK-mobile game developer, Gamagio, introduced The Walking Dead: Assault on November 30 and fans quickly made it the #2 on the  iTunes Top Paid Apps Chart upon its release. As a holiday gift to thank fans of The Walking Dead: Assault for their incredible support, Skybound/Skybound Asia/Gamagio bring you The Walking Dead: Assault iOS Game Update Version 1.1, incorporating your suggestions and some of their own improvements. The Walking Dead: Assault iOS Game Update Version 1.1 debuts today, December 19th, at 10 AM PST and will introduce the character of Michonne, the fan favorite badass from Robert Kirkman's acclaimed comic book series. The Walking Dead: Assault 1.1 version of Michonne comes armed with her trusty katana sword, ready to swiftly take down any walker with ease and grace. Sure to be every player's favorite teammate, Michonne continues to dazzle fans in all formats.

The Walking Dead: Assault iOS Game Update Version 1.1 can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store to an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch and is free to everyone who already purchased the app and only $2.99 for everyone who wants to see what they have been missing. Other improvements in this updated version include a new alternative control scheme so players can double-tap for team movement and hold for a single member move. This option is found in the settings icon on the title screen. There are new indicators on the chapter selection screen to keep track of your progress and show if bonus objectives are completed. There are audio and visual upgrades with audio enhancements for iPad2, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 to hear a greater variety of zombie sound effects and provide clearer feedback when knocking out a human opponent. There are now new rewards for completing the game on Hard and Brutal difficulty levels, and new achievements for very enthusiastic zombie killers.

The Walking Dead: Assault begins at the same point as the comic book series' first installment, Days Gone Bye, when the disoriented Sheriff Rick Grimes awakens in the hospital unaware of the zombie apocalypse. Players assemble and upgrade their ultimate team of four, chosen from The Walking Dead favorites: Michonne, Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, Shane, Andrea, Carol, Sophia and Dale. Players utilize the characters' unique abilities to fight their way through the undead hordes while completing bonus objectives and challenges to unlock exclusive content from The Walking Dead including artwork, wallpapers, behind-the-scenes trivia, and Game Center achievements. The game allows players to collect future episodes that parallel the ongoing comic timeline. Players can join The Walking Dead universe and prove their skills to other players with Game Center leaderboards, four levels of difficulty and endless possibilities for challenges.

The Walking Dead: Assault features authentic locations from comic book series all visualized in a 3D art style based the comic series iconic look. The Walking Dead: Assault features a Universal App allowing a one-time purchase to run on all of the purchaser's Apple mobile devices. The game is optimized for the iPhone 5 retina display and is automatically enhanced for iPad.
