SPOILER WARNING: This story contains plot spoilers for "Amazing Spider-Man" #700

This week, Marvel Comics ended the long-running "Amazing Spider-Man" series with issue #700 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos. It should come as no surprise to fans that the game-changing issue will receive a second printing -- and Marvel has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Humberto Ramos' spoiler-filled second printing variant cover featuring Doctor Octopus web-swinging toward the reader.

"Amazing Spider-Man" #700 serves as both an ending to the current series and a lead-in to "Superior Spider-Man," which debuts January 9, 2013, where Doctor Otto Octavius will struggle to be a hero in the body of Peter Parker.

"It's also what the good part of our first year of Superior is about: Doc behaving in a manner he's not accustomed to," series editor Steve Wacker said of the series. "We see a more sympathetic side of Doctor Octopus. We couldn't have a Spider-Man who was running around murdering people. And I have no interest in seeing that sort of character win."

Check out Ramos' variant below.
