S.H.I.E.L.D.

Although there's still no firm release date for when Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D." will hit the airwaves, leading man Clark Gregg has given fans a teaser via Twitter. (Thanks to MTV for the heads up.)

"Just had a costume fitting for a new show I'm doing. Man, it felt good to put on that suit," Gregg tweeted with the hashtag #SHIELD. It seems like things may be on track for the projected Fall 2013 release…

THE WOLVERINE

While speaking with EW.com, "The Wolverine" director James Mangold noted the reason he chose to have the film occur when it does -- after the "X-Men" trilogy.

"I felt it was really important to find Logan at a moment where he was stripped clean of his duties to the X-Men, his other allegiances, and even stripped clean of his own sense of purpose," Mangold told EW. "I was fascinated with the idea of portraying Logan as a ronin – the definition of which is a samurai without a master, without a purpose. Kind of a soldier who is cut loose. War is over. What does he do? What does he face? What does he believe anymore? Who are his friends? What is his reason for being here anymore? I think those questions are especially interesting when you’re dealing with a character who is essentially immortal."

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

During the press tour for "Gangster Squad," Emma Stone spoke briefly with MTV about returning to play Gwen Stacy in "Amazing Spider-Man 2." While the actress was tight-lipped as to whether her character would survive the sequel, she did mention her interaction with Shailene Woodley, who has been cast as Mary Jane Watson.

TRANSFORMERS 4

"Transformers 4" director Michael Bay, via his personal website, revealed that actor Jack Reynor has been cast as the male lead of the film.

"I just hired a great new actor for 'Transformers 4' to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket," Bay wrote. "Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie 'What Richard Did.' This kid is the real deal."

The director went on to note that "Transformers 4" is not a reboot and will take place 4 years after the war in Chicago.

"The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast," he said. "This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy."

THOR: THE DARK WORLD

MTV spoke with "Thor: The Dark World" star Jaimie Alexander about her back injury she sustained during her time working on the film as well as details about the tone of the film.

"It's a different vibe and a different tone," Alexander told MTV. "I think it's a bit darker. We explore more of the viking aspect of things. We explore a few different realms. You learn more about what life is like in Asgard. People just looking awesome, tall, kicking butt, stabbing a few people."

AXE COP

Fox has set a July 27 premiere date for the "Axe Cop" animated series starring "Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman as Axe Cop. The series was teased for Fox's "Animation Domination" programming block in October with this wonderful short.

THE MUPPETS 2

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tiny Fey is in late-stage negotiations to star in "The Muppets 2" alongside Ricky Gervais. THR's sources state Fey would play a Russian gulag prison guard in the film if cast.

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

While Clive Owen won't be returning to the "Sin City" sequel to reprise his role as Dwight, the character will live on as portrayed by Josh Brolin, the latest actor to get cast in the Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller film. Brolin being cast as Dwight makes sense, as the character underwent facial reconstruction after Miller's "A Dame to Kill For" comic, which takes place before the Dwight story in 2005's "Sin City."
