S.H.I.E.L.D.

Following the revelation earlier this week that Cobie Smulders is in talks to join "S.H.I.E.L.D.," The Hollywood Reporter followed-up with the "How I Met Your Mother" star, who confirmed there have been "some talks" about her joining "The Avengers" co-star Clark Gregg in Joss Whedon's follow-up series.

"Joss Whedon is a genius and any opportunity that I have to say words that he has written, I will take," Smulders told THR. "This is sort of [Clark Gregg's] show. I love Clark and want to be a part of it but we'll see."

"S.H.I.E.L.D." co-writer and executive producer Maurissa Tancheroen has been tweeting pictures from the set of the pilot, with a recent Instagram-filtered look at the official "S.H.I.E.L.D." logo.

JUSTICE LEAGUE

According to a report from Variety concerning Kevin Tsujihara succeeding Jeff Robinov as the new Warner Bros. CEO, the hopes of a "Justice League" film depend largely on the success of "Man of Steel." It's unsurprising that Warner execs want to adopt a wait-and-see attitude, given the underperformance of "Green Lantern" in 2011 and "Superman Returns" in 2006. Variety states in no uncertain terms that "Justice League" moving forward depends largely on the box office success of "Man of Steel" later this year.

IRON MAN 3

EW.com spoke with Robert Downey, Jr., who discussed the overview of the film and teased a specific cool scene for fans to look forward to.

"We’ve just been talking about one sequence -- the top-secret name is the Boot/Glove Sequence, I can tell you that, just between you and me -- it’s where Tony only has one gauntlet and one boot and he has to escape multiple captors," Downey Jr. told EW. "It’s really fun, dude. We’re taking everything from his first gauntlet test in the first movie up through the most extreme stuff we thought up for 'Iron Man 2' and 'The Avengers' and pulling on all of it and making this one big, extended challenge of physics."

The actor also stated that Don Cheadle's James Rhodes will have an expanded role in "Iron Man 3."

"Rhodey is much more in the dead center of things. He’s much more dynamic," he said. "We’ve made this decision that while Tony is a technical guy, he’s not really a trained guy. There’s a lot of fun to be had with Don because he’s really good with hardware and he’s a martial artist, so it’s been really fun exploiting this possibility of Tony having moments like the one in 'Avengers,' like the one with Cap where he decides, 'Oh screw it, he probably knows what he’s doing.' So there’s a lot of that and a lot more fun and a lot more depth to Rhodey this time around."

The rogues gallery of Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man 2" isn't done expanding yet. Paul Giamatti is currently in talks to portray the Rhino in the upcoming sequel. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

MTV spoke with "Community" actress Allison Brie at Sundance about the rumors that she'd be in "Community" directors Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Unfortunately, Brie couldn't say anything about whether she'll appear in the film, but she did talk about her excitement that the Russos would be directing.

"I'm excited that they're going to do it," she told MTV. "I think they're going to bring something different to it. I love the Russo brothers. I just adore them. I think they're incredible. Everything they do is incredible. It'll be a nice change for those Marvel superhero movies, to have a fresh take on it."

AMAZON

Yesterday, "Amazon" was noticeably absent from the CW's 2013-2014 season pilot schedule, and multiple reports revealed The CW execs were unhappy with the pilot script and are waiting on a final version from writer Allan Heinberg. While "Amazon" wasn't announced as part of the CW's fall schedule this year, it is apparently still holding a slot for the show and sources say it's still on track for a possible fall 2013 release, but it may air midseason or even later than that.

DC NATION

DC Nation updates happened yesterday for Cartoon Network, revealing both "Young Justice" and "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" were being replaced by "Teen Titans, Go!" and "Beware the Batman." Check out the descriptions of the new shows below.

Teen Titans Go!: Featuring the return of Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg in all-new, comedic adventures, Teen Titans Go! will premiere in April 2013. Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the superhero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. The series stars the principal voice cast from the original Teen Titans, and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

Beware the Batman: A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogue gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming to Cartoon Network’s DC Nation block in Summer 2013.
