As is their style, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation have jumped right on the heels of this week's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2" DVD release with a trailer for their next direct-to-video animated movie. Today, The Nerdist had a first look at the trailer for "Superman Unbound."

Based on the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank arc of "Action Comics" that saw a revised origin for Super-villain Brainiac, the movie stars "White Collar" actor Matt Bomer as the Man of Steel "Fringe's" John Noble as the android collector of worlds. The main cast is rounded out by Lois Lane and Supergirl, played by "Castle" alums Stana Katic and Molly Quinn, respectively.

"Superman Unbound" is expected to his retailers later this summer. Stay tuned to CBR News for more on this project and all DC Comics DVDs.
