JUSTICE LEAGUE

In case you missed it, as we reported here at CBR yesterday, a rumor has come down the pipe concerning the Will Beall ("Gangster Squad") script: A. It's terrible and B. It's been scrapped. What does that mean for the project? Probably another delay and, long term, maybe it'll become another Justice League project that never quite happens like the infamous TV pilot and Wolfang Petersen attempt with Common and Armie Hammer. Making this happen requires a force of will and I doubt it can be sustained indefinitely.

Meanwhile, in the never-ending Ben Affleck/JL rumor, Latino Review's El Mayimbe offers this Twitter-post regarding that oft-mentioned meeting of studio and actor/director: "FUN & FABULOUS FANBOY FACT OF THE DAY: DID YA KNOW WHEN AFFLECK WAS APPROACHED TO DIRECT JUSTICE LEAGUE THEY ALSO WANTED HIM TO PLAY BATMAN?" Affleck? In tights and a mask? It never would've worked. Y'know what would work for him? Will Magnus. Just saying.

Release date: 2015?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Ready for some tea-leaves to go with your coffee? MTV News notes that director Marc Webb has been posting enigmatic photos from the set, including this one:

It carries the enigmatic hashtag "#happybirthday." So what does it mean? Well, the Green Goblin of course! According to MTV's appraisal of the current thinking, " the number '14' on the locker corresponds with 'Amazing Spider-Man" #14,' the first comic book appearance of the Goblin. Further, Harry Osborn actor Dane DeHaan was born on February 6 — the same day Webb tweeted out the 'ASM2' set pic with the "#happybirthday" hash-tag." Well, that seems perfectly logical. Now, back to analyzing the Zapruder Film.

Release date: May 2nd, 2014

THE WALKING DEAD

Spinoff Online spotted a few new promo pics of the up-coming third season return. Here's Merle showing off, um, his stump:

Returns: This Sunday!

MAN OF STEEL

In the following YouTube clip, Amy Adams discusses playing the role of Lois Lane with Jay Leno. Not that Jay knows anything about playing Lois, but I'm sure he'd be willing to try for the exposure.

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

GODZILLA

According to Heat Vision, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen are in talks to appear in the latest Kaiju reboot. The "Breaking Bad" star will play the previously announced Aaron Johnson’s step-father and Olsen his girlfriend. Now before we start doing "there's going to be people in this?" punchlines, go take another look at the original film. It has a love-triangle! Hell, even "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero" has likeable human people in between the Kaiju fights. It could work. Maybe.

Release date: TBA

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

Spinoff Online and many other websites ask this simple question: Did Entertainment Weekly reveal the true identity of Benedict Cumberbatch's character? Y'know, for months, people have speculated his "John Harrison" is a dupe name for another more famous villain -- Sauron. Seems like the magazine jumped the gun and posted images of Kirk finding the One Ring. Or something. The preceding is how far I will go to avoid giving you guys a spoiler.

Release date: TBA

GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

Here's a clip from Saturday's episode:

Yeah, I'll be sorry when it's gone.
