DYLAN DOG: THE FOURTH KINGDOM
According to Variety (subscription required), "Platinum Studios and Relativity Management have teamed with Vancouver's the Shop Animation Studios to develop and co-produce "Dylan Dog: The Fourth Kingdom," based on an Italian comicbook series."
The French film adaptation of the Moebius comic has come to DVD under the title "Renegade," reports DVD Talk. Thanks to Joe Lawler for the heads up on that.
Comics Continuum caught the cast of the Tim Story-helmed Marvel adaptation on the Fox Movie channel, and has some quotes on the making of the film, including whether or not Evans uses Johnny Storm's signature line, "Flame on!" "Oh, I do!" Evans said. "He sells it, man!" said Jessica Alba. "He's so cool. He's smart, just like Johnny Storm is written, just as the hotshot guy." Alba discussed challenges in film continuity regarding her scenes. "We had do to all the scenes with me there, and then the other actor has to act the entire scene with me now there," she said. "I'm next to the camera doing the voice, but they have to do the same performance. They also feature screen captures from the special appearance.
Actor Rutger Hauer noted on his website that he's been cast as Cardinal Roark in "The Hard Goodbye" for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City. "Well, things happened rapidly the last few days. While opening mail and relaxing something popped out of the pressure cooker. SIN CITY is a black and white cartoon which is being made into a feature in Texas. Could I come and do a wacky hysterical cardinal for them."
Movies Online has some rumors about the Wesley Snipes-fueled vampire saga continuing on. "Even though 'Blade 3' (sic) hasn't lived up to the numbers of the previous films part 4 is well underway. Wesley Snipes was signed for this movie when he signed the contract for Trinity but it looks more and more like Goyer will not be returning as he has said to have had enough and is thankful for what the series has done for him."
Also, writer/director David Goyer did an audio interview with KCRW (click "listen") where he discusses not only the "Blade" franchise but also "Batman Begins."
The Syndey Star Observer talked to actor Hugh Jackman's personal trainer, who hinted that the next mutant-themed sequel may be headed to the Land Down Under. "He's also just been asked to work with Jackman on 'X-Men 3,' which may be filmed in Sydney."
