ENDER'S GAME

"Ender's Game" creator Orson Scott Card has been a focus of a controversy in the comic book community for the past few weeks since he was revealed to be writing a Superman story for DC Comics -- but it looks as though the outcry from many comic book fans may have bled over to production on the "Ender's Game" film. The Hollywood Reporter reports the current spotlight on Card's personal views on homosexuality may have a negative impact on the film adaptation of his novel. Namely, that Summit Entertainment may not be able to bring Card to this year's Comic-Con International at San Diego.

"I don't think you take him to any fanboy event," one studio executive told THR. "This will definitely take away from their creative and their property."

"Orson's politics are not reflective of the moviemakers," says one person involved in the film. "We’re adapting a work, not a person. The work will stand on its own."

Meanwhile, Collider has posted a first look at the four logos for the armies of Battle School including Rat, Salamander, Asp and Dragon.

YOUNG JUSTICE

"Young Justice" creator Greg Weisman refuses to give up when it comes to the popular DC Comics animated series. While many have assumed that "Young Justice" is cancelled, no definitive statements from Weisman, co-head Brandon Vietti or Cartoon Network have been made to that effect with all merely stating it won't be back in the fall. While speaking with The World's Finest, Weisman stayed away from the term "cancelled" and stated he would still be open to bringing it back.

“I’m not writing an epitaph here. But the nature of the business is that you never know if you’re going to be picked up for more episodes or issues. So whether it’s 'Captain Atom,' 'Gargoyles,' 'W.I.T.C.H.,' 'The Spectacular Spider-Man' or 'Young Justice,' I always try to end each season or run at a good place to stop, with what I like to call open-ended closure. So with the Young Justice book and show, Brandon [Vietti] and I tied up enough threads that the audience/reader can feel satisfied, but we’ve left some questions unanswered, some threads dangling intentionally, so that we have the chance to come back. And I would love to come back to this world, these characters. Believe me.”

Meanwhile, the current season of "Young Justice" is ramping up to its conclusion and Cartoon Network has released a plethora of photos and a clip from this weekend's episode, "The Hunt."

Also, here's a quick look at clips from "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" and the DC Nation short "Farm League."

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

The Hollywood Reporter states "Zero Dark Thirty" actor Jason Clarke has been cast to star in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," which is set 15 years after "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." It is currently unclear who Clarke will portray, only that he'll be in a leading role.

Clarke's fellow "Zero Dark Thirty" star Chris Pratt was recently rumored to be cast as Star-Lord in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy."
