Michael Avon Oeming's Dark Horse Comics superhero series returns in May with the release of "The Victories: Transhuman" #1. The series, an ongoing title continuing from the pages of Oeming's initial Victories miniseries, will continue to explore the artist's experiences with therapy, anxiety attacks and depression.
"Not only is 'The Victories' a chance for me to flex my skills as an artist, but it's a chance to unwaveringly delve into a lot of individual and real world issues as a storyteller," Oeming told CBR News. "This is a very personal project for me, one I passionately care about, and I hope people will come along on this journey with me."
"The last time I was this excited to work on a superhero book was 'The Umbrella Academy,'" Dark Horse's Editor-in-Chief Scott Allie added. "I've never seen someone use an action packed superhero book to exorcise his own personal demons the way Mike does here."
In support of his new ongoing, Dark Horse is offering retailers that order 25 or more copies of "Victories" #1 a free, exclusive watercolored sketch card by Oeming -- a photo of one of the cards is pictured to the right -- with a limit of one per account.
