300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE

Comic Book Movie has uncovered a still photo of Eva Green from "300: Rise of an Empire" from this month's issue of Entertainment Weekly.

"'Empire' is tied visually to the original, [but] there is a whole different choreography of fighting and war," Green told EW. "[The movie] happens over time in many different locations. The opportunities for the six distinct battles are even greater with different locations and tactics. The few against the many is still here, it's hundreds vs. hundreds of thousands. It's about taking on the mightiest power of all with wisdom and tactics."

Opens August 2

R.I.P.D.

For a July 2013 release, the adaptation of the Dark Horse Comics series "R.I.P.D." has had surprisingly little press of late. Bloody Disgusting has posted a scan from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly of stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges in an action pose with some really cool firearms. The film, directed by Robert Schwentke, follows a recently dead police officer who joins a team of other undead cops in the Rest in Peace Department.

Opens July 19

THE LONE RANGER

Disney continues releasing posters for "The Lone Ranger," this time for William Fichtner as the film's villain, Butch Cavendish.

THE OVERLOOK HOTEL

Deadline reports previous "The Walking Dead" showrunner Glen Mazzara has been tapped to write "The Overlook Hotel," which serves as a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining." The film is being developed at Warner Bros. and produced by Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis.

TEEN TITANS GO!

"Teen Titans Go!" producers Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath and voice actors Greg Cipes and Khary Payton spoke about the revival of the series at WonderCon 2013.

"There is a solid story all the way through [each short]," Horvath said. "It's not just random, short form stuff. … There's not a storyline that carries [from episode to episode], but there are relationships that develop. … If their first show is in the middle of the season, I don't want them to be confused."

Premieres April 23 on Cartoon Network.
