After a short teaser trailer released last week, WB Games Montreal has revealed the full trailer for "Batman: Arkham Origins," the anticipated prequel to the "Batman: Arkham" video game franchise releasing October 25. While the trailer contains no gameplay footage, the five-minute cinematic features appearances by and references to a number of iconic DC Comics characters, including Green Arrow, Deathstroke the Terminator, Deadshot and Black Mask. The trailer also reveals that customers who pre-order the game will have the ability to play as Deathstroke.

Along with the first trailer, news of the voice cast for the game has dropped courtesy of IGN. A Warner Bros. spokesperson stated Roger Craig Smith has been confirmed as the voice of Batman, while Troy Baker is confirmed as the Joker. However, Conroy seemingly confirmed at Dallas Comic Con this weekend that he's been working on the game for the last 10 months.

“It’s an unbelievable game,” he told the crowd. “I still can’t say anything about it [...] but it’s amazing. It’s a huge, huge cast, and a big story, and it took almost a year to write and put together. They’ve been working on it for a long time.”

Given Warner Bros. statement, it's possible Conroy will only be in part of the game. "Batman: Arkham Origins" takes place prior to the events of "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City," so WB Games Montreal might have wanted to get a different voice actor to play a younger version of Batman. However, Conroy's (possibly) limited involvement is not the only change to the franchise. WB Games Montreal have replaced "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" developers Rocksteady Games, and Paul Dini, writer of both previous games, will not return for "Origins." Judging from the Warner representative's comments, the possibility also exists that Mark Hamill will not return to the franchise to voice the Joker.

Releasing October 25, "Batman: Arkham Origins" takes place on Christmas Eve as the Black Mask hires the world's deadliest assassins to hunt down Batman in Gotham City.
