Since joining Twitter in 2013, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer has used the social media service to reveal new details, cast announcements and first looks at the "X-Men: First Class" sequel, including photos of Nicolas Hoult as Beast, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier. Singer's most recent reveal is of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Mystique in full bodysuit and makeup.
Opening July 18, 2014, "Days of Future Past" takes its name from the classic 1981 >Marvel Comics story by Chris Claremont and John Byrne that depicts a timeline created by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from assassinating a U.S. senator. In that alternate future, the giant robotic Sentinels have become the de facto rulers of the United States, where mutants are hunted down and placed in internment camps. Directed by Bryan Singer, the film stars "X-Men: First Class" cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence; "X-Men" alums Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Daniel Cudmore; and franchise newcomers Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing and Adan Canto.
