This past Friday in Hollywood, California, Metldown Comics hosted a launch party for the Image Comics graphic novel "Ascend." Writers Ketih Arem and Scott Cuthbertson were in attendance to sign copies of the book. Joining Keith and Scott were members of the Web site Suicide Girls, which made for a very busy signing indeed, and Suicide Girls calendar artist Rion Vernon. CBR friend and artist Terry Wolfinger snapped a load of pictures for us, which we've got for you down below.

Before we continue, one quick note. In the middle of the signing Keith Arem's cell phone rang and on the other end of the line was his wife, telling him she'd just gone in to labor. Keith quickly left the shop to get to his wife's side while those in attendance wished him and his wife their best.

Now, on to the pictures.

Keep on preachin'.
