MAN OF STEEL

With Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" coming in a few short weeks, press has begun to surface from set visits back when the film was shooting. Collider spoke with Snyder on the set of the Superman reboot, and discussed his take on not only Superman, but Clark Kent.

"I’ll only say that I think in a lot of -- well, definitely in the movies -- he always jumps straight from childhood to Clark," Snyder told Collider. Like, he jumps from sort of his teenage version of himself to the adult version of himself. Frankly, The Daily Planet Clark, that happens pretty quick. I just think that our Clark, he’s not fully realized and I think -- by the way, that’s huge information -- but I think that’s the big difference. That’s why there’s this talk about who Clark is. In a lot of ways, the movie really is about the why of Clark, not to say that this kind of bumbling -- I don’t want to call him bumbling -- his mocky, nerdy Clark is… But that’s not the Clark that we went after or are going after. We’re going after sort of a different, there’s a different take on Clark, how Clark is."

SuperHeroHype also visited the set and spoke with writer David S. Goyer, who discussed the choice of villain for the film.

"The way (Christopher) Nolan and I have always approached the Batman movies as well is you never say, 'Hey, which villain would be cool for this movie?' You start with the story first. What kind of story? What kind of theme do you want to tell? So we worked that out," Goyer told SuperHeroHype. "Then, usually the villain becomes obvious in terms of who's going to be the appropriate antagonist for that. When you guys see the movie, the only villain we could've used was Zod and the Kryptonians. I mean, when you see what the whole story is, nothing else would have even made sense, just like in the same way that nothing else would've made sense other than Bane in the other one. I mean, you let the story dictate who the right antagonist is rather than the other way around."

ENDER'S GAME

Empire Online spoke with "Ender's Game" star Asa Butterfield about his leading role in the Orson Scott Card novel adaptation, and the training he went through to prepare -- including attending Space Camp.

"That was our very first week. It really broke the ice between all of us kids -- we were good friends by the end of it. And it also gave insight into how it would have been to gone to Battle School," Butterfield told Empire. "We were taught to march, all about cadences, and did a bunch of army drills. Lights off at 9pm. Awake at 7am. Pretty brutal, but I’d do it again."

Empire also posted a new still image from the film.
