Debuts September 24 on ABC

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

According to "Avengers: Age of Ultron" director Joss Whedon, Black Widow is set for a huge part in the upcoming sequel, and fans can also expect a little more Hawkeye as well.

“Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don’t have their own franchises,” Whedon said during a Nerd HQ interview at Comic-Con. “Although she’s in Cap 2, [and] she’s great. She was the most fun for me because she’s not a hero, you know, and it’s something that I read -- and I feel bad that I can’t remember who wrote the book -- but it’s in one of the books explaining, ‘These guys are heroes, you are a spy. It’s a different thing -- it’s a different skill set -- and you don’t have their moral high ground or any of that good stuff.’ And that just makes her so interesting to me. So yeah, the stuff I’ve got going on with her in the second one is killer.”

THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Tom Hiddleston had a brief post-Comic-Con panel chat with Empire Online, both about "Thor: The Dark World" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"I genuinely think it's a great -- we talked about it and I think it's great for the film, I think it's great for 'Avengers 2' that I'm not in it, because I'm so proud of the first one and Joss and I were -- there were so many things we both loved about it," Hiddleston told Empire. "If I were in it, we'd be chasing those moments, chasing that again. The Avengers need a new bad guy to fight and they need new things to do. I'll miss the dance parties and Scarlett mixes a mean tequila, but for the film, I'll be waving them off and saying, 'Good luck, have fun,' and I'll be in the front row when it comes out."

Opens November 8

MARVEL STUDIOS

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige spoke with Collider about a myriad of topics following the studio's Comic-Con International panel, including "Guardians of the Galaxy" and when the Phase Three film slate might get announced.

“I think it would probably be, at the earliest, a year from now,” Feige told Collider. “It’s only 2013 now.”

Meanwhile, CBR Editor-in-Chief Jonah Weiland spoke with "Avengers: Age of Ultron" director Joss Whedon about crossing over Marvel Cinematic Universe properties with Sony's "Spider-Man" franchise and Fox's "X-Men" films.

"You give me the parameters and I work with them. I have so many actors, I have so many characters to service that it's not like I'm like, 'Well this won't work unless I have Spider-Man and Wolverine!' I'm just making my movie," Whedon said. "Yeah, it's cool to think about stuff like that and if we reached an era where those studios could cooperate on that level I think that would be super dope. Whenever you see somebody crossing over to something it gives it pop. Like 'Muder She Wrote' and 'Magnum [P.I.]' -- great crossover. I got excited."

THE WALKING DEAD

TV Line has posted a quick update on David Morrissey's role as the Governor in the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead," saying he'll be "a major presence" in at least two stand-alone episodes. Both are likely to occur in the first half of the season.

STAR WARS

LucasFilm's Kathleen Kennedy spoke with IGN about the focus of the upcoming "Star Wars" trilogy, which will be very much character-first.

"The story and characters are all we’re talking about right now," Kennedy told IGN. "We have an amazing team at ILM, who can create fantastic effects, but if we don’t have a great story and characters, the effects mean nothing.

"I do think making huge popular culture -- and I’ve had the good fortune to be a part of a lot it -- is really hard to do and get right. And if you don’t spend the time you need on developing characters, and finding stories, complicated stories, the audience gets tired because they think they’re seeing the same thing again and again."

Concept art for the "Star Wars: Rebels" animated series has also surfaced, giving fans a better idea of what to expect from environments and ship design.

Finally, original "Star Wars" composer John Williams will return for "Star Wars: Episode VII."

"I've enjoyed doing the 'Star Wars' films with all the fanfares and flourish," Williams said. "And a galaxy far, far away, I feel like I'm still in it, I never really left it. Having worked on all of the six films, I'm just happy to continue to be a part of the fun of doing it."

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

"Amazing Spider-Man 2" director Marc Webb spoke with Collider about his work on the upcoming sequel and beyond, covering topics from Mary Jane to the massive Marvel studio crossover that's been such a popular discussion as of late.
