Actress Chloe Sevigny talked to the New York Daily News about trying to land a role in the new sequel, possibly revealing more than she should. "I'd love to be in 'Spider-Man 3!'" Sevigny said. "There's a villain in it who's a blond, buxom girl, and I'm trying to get it! That [may] surprise people, since actors are always thought of as their last film or who they were. I think I'll always be drawn to films more difficult to watch, but I don't want to be a snobby cinephile." Looking at the established list of blonde, buxom villains in the Spider-Man canon, who would that description fit except Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat?
Speaking of actresses landing roles, Parker Posey has joined the cast of Bryan Singer's untitled Superman movie for Warner Bros. Pictures, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Posey will play Kitty Koslowski, Lex Luthor's villainous henchwoman, which is slightly different from the rumor we reported yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Sydney Talent Company also has some possible spoilers for actors who tried out for parts.
IGN's FIlmForce is on hand to debunk rumors of a female Angel in the next Marvel mutant movie. "IGN FilmForce checked with its super-secret 'X3' insider who declared that 'Angel is male!' We were advised that Angel (a.k.a. Warren Worthington III) will be a 'major character' as will Beast. Beast will be seen in his transformed state and will be played by a different actor than Steve Bacic, who appeared as Hank McCoy in 'X2.' Overall, our source confirmed the rest of the AICN report as accurate but emphasized that 'Gambit is not a major character.' While the ragin' Cajun enjoyed a relationship with Rogue in the comics, it's uncertain whether that will be a part of 'X3' in any way (or how any potential affair will sit with Rogue's current beau, Bobby 'Iceman' Drake). IGN's source also revealed that Cyclops is still in the movie but not as a major character. They would not reveal anything more about his part but did confirm that Matthew Vaughn is indeed on-board to direct."
Warner Brothers President of Production Jeff Robinov confirmed the signing of Joss Whedon as writer and director for the tale of Princess Diana, and released a teaser image as well. "We are excited about working with Joss," Robinov said. "He brings great energy and creativity to the process. His work on Buffy makes him uniquely qualified to handle the Wonder Woman character."
The world's most whimsical anti-terrorist force returns to TV screens this September as "G.I. Joe Sigma Six" in conjunction with a new line of eight inch action figures, according to Toon Zone.
