"We're going for something that combines the high-drama aspects of a darker mainstream book with the post-punk weird and psychologically edgy qualities of Vertigo," writer Peter Milligan told USA Today while discussing the announcement that he and artist Roberto De La Torre are taking over Valiant Entertainment's "Shadowman" title. "I'm not throwing everything out with the bath water — I'm just making the bath water a bit more grimy and, hopefully, unpleasant," he continued. "Something is wrong with Jack and to find out what it is, he'll need to face some terrible truths about himself and make some big changes in his life."

Issue #13 not only sees a new creative team handling the adventures of Jack Boniface as he continues to get a hanlde on the powers that are his birthright, it's also the pilot issue of the publisher's "Must Read Valiant" campaign, designed to highlight new-reader friendly arcs for all of it's comics.

Below, check out the full solicitation for the upcoming issue, along with a CBR-exclusive debut of Shane Davis' variant cover for the issue along with a first look at De La Torre's interior art.
