IDW Publishing & Steve Niles have provided CBR News with a five-page preview of the May debuting series "American Freakshow." The series is written by Steve Niles with art by "Dawn of the Dead" collaborator Chee. In a press release issued earlier this month, IDW described the series:

American Freakshow tells "The Terrible Tale of Sloth Boy" as it follows the title character through his brutal and warped existence, beginning with his days as a sideshow freak and continuing on through his attempt at normalcy in the bowels of a Florida trailer park.

"This is based on about two or three true-life freakshow stories that I've been obsessed with for years-some small, some larger. I sort of combined them into one big, twisted, freaky-ass story, hence the title," says Niles. "And I hope people dig the pseudo-documentary style Chee and I have put together. This one is a VERY odd tale. I got a little freaked out writing it, to be perfectly honest."
