Star Wars might share a parent company with Marvel in Disney, but this week when it comes to collectibles, they share the spotlight with DC Comics. The two properties make up the majority of this week's announcements proving that both universes still have plenty of life left in them thanks in no small part to the recently released DC Collectibles solicitation information. Of course, a few others got in on the action including He-Man, Heavy Metal and even Resident Evil, but the week belonged to DC and Star Wars.

DC UNIVERSE | ToyNewsI scored a look at some more upcoming DC-based action figures, this time from Mattel. The 6-inch line called Total Heroes will include a first wave consisting of Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Sinestro. Meanwhile, the 4-inch DC Comics Mutliverse line kicks off with video game-inspired figures like Batman, Mr. Freeze, Azrael and Armored Batman from "Batman: Arkham City" along with Bane and Deadshot from "Batman: Arkham Origins."

BATMAN: ARKHAM ORIGINS | Of course, Mattel's not the only one making figures based on "Batman: Arkham Origins" which debuts on October 25. From the looks of the second wave of DC Collectibles figures based on the game, it seems like Batman will have his hands full. The bad guy bonanza includes all-new figures of Firefly, Deadshot, Deathstroke and Anarky as they appear in the game.

KENNER STAR WARS | Gentle Giant's taking their Vintage Jumbo Kenner recreations to all new heights with the Stormtrooper Life-Size Vintage Monument. This bad boy stands 6-feet tall and looks like your old school Star Wars toys blown up to actual size! GG also showed off the next installment in the "Empire Strikes Back"-inspired line of Hoth-based regular sized vintage figures which recreates the Rebel Soldier as seen on the ice planet. Both will be available in the fall of next year.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE | Pop Culture Shock just revealed their most ambitious "Masters of the Universe" collectible yet: the quarter-scale He-Man statue complete with Sword of Power and Castle Grayskull jaw-bridge stand. The 29-inch tall statue comes in two versions the regular one and the PCS exclusive which also comes with his wizard pal Orco flying around.

DC STATUES | DC Collectibles unveiled yet another cavalcade of caped crusaders in statue forms for fans to fawn over. March 2014 will see the release of the DC Comics Cover Girls Huntress statue (9.8 inches tall) as well as the Gary Frank-inspired Batman: Black & White piece (7 inches) and the Kenneth Rocafort-designed Superman: The Man of Steel piece (8.5 inches). Even Sinestro scored a statue in his Green Lantern uniform as part of the Blackest Night line. That 6-inch statue will be out in November 2014.

STAR WARS | Between the films, video games, comics and cartoons, Commander Cody has become one of the more popular characters to come out of the Star Wars prequels. How can you not like a Clone Trooper with a snazzy orange uniform and unfailing devotion to his people and his cause? Sideshow shows off some of his radness in their May-shipping Premium Format Figure which stands 18.5 inches tall and comes ready to blast away all comers.

RESIDENT EVIL 4 | Be careful of this one, she can be tricky. Hot Toys revealed a plethora of Ada Wong figure images recently on their Facebook page. She's dressed and armed to kill thanks to a slinky red dress and all kinds of accoutrements. While full details weren't presented, it looks like she comes packing everything from a Tommy gun to a crossbow to help fight off the villagers and monsters seen in "Resident Evil 4."

TERMINATOR 2 | Looking like something out of a the world's greatest hunter's trophy room comes Sideshow's "Terminator 2" T-800 Endoskeleton Life-Size Bust. The piece was designed in conjunction with movie magic makers Stan Winston Studios and even comes with light-up eyes for that extra creep-out factor. The 13-inch tall head ships in May of next year.

STAR WARS | It seems way too early to even think about New York Comic Con, but we're already starting to see some exclusives revealed here and there. Kotobukiya announced that they will have Emperor Palpatine's astromech droid R2-Q5 ARTFX+ statue for sale at the show. Con attendees will also get a gold coin commemorating the piece's exclusive nature upon purchase.

SCRIBBLENAUTS UNMASKED | The second wave of DC Collectibles' blind boxed figures based on the "Scribblenatus Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure" continue to mash-up the style of the game with some of the world's most beloved heroes and hated villains. The second series will include First Appearance Batman, Flash, Electric Blue Superman Cyborg, Green Lantern Sinestro, Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle, Ocean Camo Aquaman, Bane, Golden Batman and a few unrevealed surprises. Took for these tiny treasures in March.

HEAVY METAL | Still one of the most iconic art magazines for adults, "Heavy Metal" continues to inspire metal heads to play guitars really loud and doodle all kinds of skull-laden images on their notebooks. Hollywood Collectibles Group celebrates the film version's longevity with this 22-inch tall Guardian Girl statue, based on the artwork of Simon Bisley. The statue is limited to 250 pieces and will ship early next year. If you buy the HCG exclusive, you also get a print of the inspiriting artwork!

PLAY ARTS KAI DC | Square Enix unveiled a pair of new super variants without much information or explanation. Still you can get a pretty good idea of what you're getting with these new Play Arts Kai DC figures of Superman and Supergirl which look armored up and kind of peeved. (via ToyNewsI)

SECTAURS | Hey, do you remember the insect-riding Sectaurs? The characters starred in a line of '80s toys as well as a comic from Marvel. Just last month a brand new website called Sectaurs.com launched. While it seems like a fan site for the most part there was a curious note in the introductory post that said, "A new era of greatness for the Warriors of Symbion is about to begin!" Is that just web hype or a hint at something more? We'll keep you posted!
