MARVEL/NETFLIX

Two new details for the upcoming Marvel/Netflix television series have come to light -- namely that frequent Joss Whedon collaborator Drew Goddard is in negotiations to write "Daredevil", while "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is reportedly attached to write and executive produce "Jessica Jones."

Considering how far out the shows are, it's no surprise that Marvel has yet to confirm either report, but the pedigree of both writers makes the reports credible. Goddard has worked on a number of projects with Whedon, while Rosenberg has been involved with a TV version of Jessica Jones since "AKA Jessica Jones" was announced as in-development in 2010.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN

Kevin Smith has seen the Affleck Batman design and he's very pleased with the results. Nerd Bastards has posted a quote from Smith during his moderation of the "Man of Steel" fan event that took place over the weekend.

“I saw the costume. More than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume … I don’t want to give anything away, ’cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this … I instantly bear-hugged [Zack Snyder]. You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this Matrix-y black armor thing. … There wasn’t a single nipple on this [frick]ing suit, man. I think everyone is gonna be like ‘Holy shit!’ We haven’t been down this path before. Even the hardest-core “[frick] this movie” person will be like, ‘All right, I’m ready!’”

MARVEL STUDIOS

Anyone who's seen "Thor: The Dark World" or last night's episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." probably noticed a new title sequence for the Marvel logo. Marvel's Kevin Feige explained the reasoning behind the switch -- namely, to help define Marvel Studios' identity.

"We designed the very first Marvel logo for the first Spider-Man film,” Feige told Marvel.com. “We’ve used that logo for eleven years, and with ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ it felt like a good time to update it because this is the very first film that only has the Marvel logo in front of it. You look back at the other films, and they’ve also featured our studio partners’ or distribution partners’ logos. But now that we are our own entity within the Walt Disney Company, it is only the Marvel logo in front of the movies. So that felt like the time to update it and have something that is more substantial as a standalone logo in front of our features.”

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Speaking of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," a new promo for "The Well" -- the episode that follows-up on "Thor: The Dark World" -- has hit online. The episode airs next week.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK

Guillermo del Toro updated fans about "Justice League Dark" earlier this week, noting that the film will connect to the existing live-action plans for a DC Comics Cinematic Universe.

"Warner Bros. are making plans for the entire DC Universe, all the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark," del Toro said. "They're planning on TV, movies, all the media, so we have to fit within that plan."
