Archie Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Mike Norton's variant cover for "The Fox" #5 by J.M. DeMatteis and Dean Haspiel, which serves as the conclusion to the series' "Freak Magnet" arc. Norton's cover is part of Archie's "Fox Five" variant covers, which also includes cover images by Howard Chaykin, Mike Cavallaro, an Alex Toth throwback cover, and series artist Dean Haspiel.
"Growing up reading superhero comics, I sometimes thought about protecting lives but I wasn't crazy enough to be a vigilante and I wasn't brave enough to become a cop. Instead, I wrote and drew some of the stuff I experienced and filtered my feelings about sacrifice and heroism into my fiction," Haspiel told CBR of the series in September. "In a way, I can sympathize how The Fox could happen and he's easy to relate to. He's timeless and hardly needs modernizing because he's iconic. Sure, telephones and jukeboxes are now wireless cameras and global positioning systems and social networking has become a necessary demon, but the human condition is always ripe for reportage and we never stop learning from our fellow neighbors."

THE FOX #5
The fantastically-foxy finale IS HERE in Freak Magnet pt 5: "Future's End"! Emmy Award winning writer/artist Dean Haspiel (Billy Dogma, HBO's Bored to Death) is joined by acclaimed writer J.M. Our hero has won the day and defeated his evil adversaries, so why does he now find himself trapped 70 years in the past, side-by-side with the legendary hero of WW2 known as THE SHIELD?!
