In an interview with CBR News' Keith Giles in July, Mignola described it as "sort of a Norse mythology thing and it should be a lot of fun."
"Hellboy: Bones of Giants" is based on a story by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, written by Golden with illustrations provided by Mignola. Golden also penned the previous Hellboy novel, "Hellboy: The Lost Army."
Now that you know all the facts, how would you like to read a bit of it? The official Hellboy Web site is currently running a five page preview of the novel that should wet your appetite. The summary on the preview page describes the book as follows:
"On the frozen shores of Sweden, lightning strikes from a clear sky. The skeleton of a huge man is revealed, its fingers clutched around the handle of an iron hammer. No one who comes to see this marvel from Norse mythology can lift it -- no one but Hellboy, who lifts the hammer just in time for lightning to strike again, welding it to his hand and leading him towards a bizarre series of visions and encounters."
Look for "Hellboy: Bones of Giants" at your favorite comic book store December 5th.
