THE FLASH

Speaking of Barry Allen, Bludhaven Banter has posted unconfirmed casting descriptions of Iris West and her father, Captain West for the upcoming "Flash" spinoff series.

IRIS - 22-28 - African-American - As smart as she is beautiful, Iris is in grad school studying psychology. She's also Barry's mile a minute, fast-talking, quick-witted best friend. Her father, Detective West, took in Barry when his mother was murdered, and his father was wrongly accused and imprisoned for her murder. In a tough childhood for Barry, she was the one "not tough" thing. She's unaware of Barry's strong feelings for her.

DETECTIVE WEST - Late 40s to Early 50s - African American -Detective West is an honest, blue-collar cop who's seen it all. A soulful, funny caring father to Iris, and a surrogate father to Barry, West came up through the foster system himself. He took in Barry after his mother's murder and his father's imprisonment. He believes in Barry and supports Barry's efforts to prove his father's innocence.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG

WARCRAFT

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming "Warcraft" film has cast Ben Foster, Toby Kebbell and Robert Kazinsky. Dominic Cooper is also reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast.

The new members of the ensemble will join Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton. No roles have been revealed as of yet.

THE FIFTH BEATLE

Peyton Reed has been tapped to direct an adaptation of "The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story," the Dark Horse Comics graphic novel by Vivek J. Tiwary, Andrew C. Robinson and Kyle Baker.

"From the moment I read Vivek's graphic novel, I knew I wanted to be the person to bring Brian's story to the big screen," Reed said in a statement. "I'm a lifelong Beatles fan, obviously, but it's Brian's fascinating life that really blew me away and drew me to this project. He's the ultimate outsider who, against all odds, became the ultimate insider. He was responsible for shepherding the most popular artistic expression of 'love' in the history of modern culture, and yet he wasn’t allowed to express his own love during that time."

Production is slated to begin next year.
