Kaare Andrews has been absent from the monthly comics scene for a while, but the writer/artist is set to return in a big way in April when he launches "Iron Fist: The Living Weapon" as part of Marvel Comics' All-New Marvel NOW! campaign.

In an interview with Hero Complex, Andrews discusses the new adventures of the Netflix-bound Danny Rand. The series finds the warrior departing his home in the U.S. and returning to the mystical land of K'un-Lun where he was trained in the martial arts in order to once again find meaning in his life. "He’s despondent. He is not connecting with life, and he doesn’t know why.," Andrews explained. "When you become a living weapon, that’s a weapon that cuts both ways."

Check back with CBR tomorrow for more from Kaare Andrews on making the shift from filmmaking back to comics, his plans for Danny Rand, developing his first long form comics work and more.
