This week's collectible reveals are an interesting mix. On the surface, they seem pretty disparate, but when you think about it, a lot of them do share one thing in common: they're based on adapted material. Hot Toys has a Loki figure from "Thor: The Dark World" which takes its cues from the comic much like the Gentle Giant "Captain America: The Winter Solider" statue and "The Walking Dead" TV figures and statue from McFarlane Toys and Gentle Giant respectively. Then again, you've got a nice Wolverine comic book statue from Dark Horse Deluxe and a variety of Star Wars offerings, so there's something for everyone!
THOR: THE DARK WORLD | Everyone's favorite trickster god will be getting a new Hot Toys action figure this year! After the popularity of their "Avengers" 1/6th scale figure based on Tom Hiddleston's Marvel Studios villain, Hot Toys decided to go ahead and do another one based on Loki's look in "Thor: The Dark World," hence the chains. Loki will also come with the Aether, an key object in the film, but only in select markets.
THE WALKING DEAD | McFarlane Toys continues to roll out high quality figures based on AMC's "The Walking Dead." Be warned, though, this line-up includes a spoiler if you're not caught up on the series. The fifth wave of the TV-based series includes Glenn, Tyreese, Maggie, a Charred Walker and, here's the SPOILER, Merle Walker. Each one comes with lots of weapons and other accessories.
THE WALKING DEAD | Meanwhile, Gentle Giant has some "The Walking Dead" collectibles of their own that will come out later this year. For their part, Gentle Giant is offering a 10-inch tall statue of Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon complete with removable poncho and crossbow. Daryl debuts in December.
MARVEL STATUES | Gentle Giant came out with a new batch of solicits this week that includes a pair of new Marvel statues. First off, there's one featuring the star of "Captain America: The Winter Solider" himself, Steve Rogers. Sculpted in the costume he'll wear on screen along with a battered version of his shield, this piece stands 18 inches tall. They also have a Venom Zombie Mini Bust in the works as seen in the Marvel Zombies parallel universe. Both statues will hit at the end of 2014.
BATMAN: ARKHAM ORIGINS | DC Collectibles continues to give "Batman: Arkham City" fans a look at the process that went into creating their most massive action figure yet, the Deluxe Clayface based on his look in the video game. This time around Jim Fletcher and Phil Ramirez give us a look at what the head sculpt process was like for this July 14th-shipping figure.
STAR WARS | That Wedge Antilles is one lucky guy. After surviving the first Death Star attack, he went on to do the same thing in "Return of the Jedi." Gentle Giant honors this Rebel pilot and Rogue Squardon leader with a pair of busts. The regular version features Wedge in his trusty flight helmet while the Premiere Guild exclusive edition comes unmasked. Meanwhile, the Jumbo line that upscales old school Kenner figures is moving to Cloud City with the Bespin Outfit Han Solo 12-inch figure.
BATMAN | Everyone wants to be Batman and thanks to Hollywood Collectibles, you can now dress up as him in a movie accurate cowl. This particular piece of headgear is based on the one Michael Keaton wore during Tim Burton's 1989 classic "Batman." Only 100 of these masks have been made and they will ship this spring.

THE HOBBIT | Before Legolas met Frodo Baggins he met another hobbit by the name of Bilbo. This Gentle Giant mini bust depicts the warrior elf's appearance in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" including a recently decapitated orc head held aloft like a trophy. The 4.5-inch tall bust will hit shops at the end of the year.
MARVEL CLASSIC CHARACTERS | Dark Horse Deluxe's line of syroco-style Marvel statues continues to present X-Men characters in all their comic-inspired glory. This time around this old style statue line will add Wolverine to the line-up. The piece will hit shops on June 18.
ROBOCOP | Hong Kong toymakers threezero unveiled a few teaser images of their figures based on the upcoming "RoboCop" remake. They also threw up a few in-progress shots of their ED-209. Both pieces are expected to debut later this year.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE CLASSICS | Mattycollector Toy Guru coot Neitlich took to Facebook earlier this week to let Masters of the Universe Classics fans know that they're looking to create all of the remaining vintage figures by the end of 2015, encouraging fans to sign up for subscriptions soon so they'll have a better idea of who they can put out and when. They also noted that 2015 will not necessarily see the collector-based line come to an end.
