"Justice League: War" won't be on sale for another couple of weeks, but the promotional train is already rolling for the next DC Comics-based straight-to-home release animated feature: "Son of Batman," adapting the story that introduced Bruce Wayne's son, Damian.
Along with the first trailer, TV Guide revealed the primary voice cast, headed up by Jason O'Mara returning for a second performance as Batman, after playing the character in "Justice League: War." Additional cast includes child actor Stuart Allan as Damian; "Homeland's" Morena Baccarin as Talia; "Breaking Bad" alum Giancarlo Esposito as Ra's Al Ghul, acting veteran David McCallum as Alfred, "24" and "Nikita's" Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat and "Criminal Minds" actor Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke.
In an interview with CBR published last week, "Arrow" actor Sean Maher stated that he's voicing Dick Grayson in an upcoming DC animated project. Whether it's "Son of Batman" or another project -- "Batman: Assault on Arkham" has also been confirmed to be on the horizon -- remains to be seen.
First announced last July on Twitter, "Son of Batman" is based on the 2006 "Batman & Son" story arc written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Andy Kubert. "Son of Batman" is scheduled to premiere at WonderCon in Anaheim, which runs from April 18-April 20. "Justice League: War" will be released on Feb. 4.
