Official Press Release

Hey, True Believer!

Thanks to an avalanche of media coverage, the first printing of HEROES, the

comic book community's salute to the world's real heroes, has completely

sold out! But never fear, because a second printing is now underway!

Best of all, not only will the second printing of HEROES soon be available,

but Marvel will once again donate the proceeds from the sale of each issue

to the Twin Towers Fund. Retailers are encouraged to check in with their

Diamond Representative for information regarding the second printing.

Marvel thanks the comics industry's online and print media community -

including Wizard, Comic Shop News, Comics Buyer's Guide, Borderline,

Cinescape.com, ComicBookResources.com, Comicon's Newsarama,

GrayHavenMagazine.com, and Aint-It-Cool-News.com - for extensive coverage of

the HEROES effort.

In addition to Editor in Chief Joe Quesada and artist Adam Kubert's seven

minute segment on the Today Show (the #1 morning news program), HEROES was

also covered by a wide variety of outlets, including Newsweek, New York

Newsday, The New York Post, The Washington Post (online at:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/style/), The Philadelphia Daily News,

The Boston Herald, The Detroit Free Press, The San Antonio Express-News, The

Kansas City Star, The Dallas Morning News, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution

(online at: http://www.accessatlanta.com/ajc/living/1017comicbooks.html),

National Public Radio, Reuters TV, Fox News, Access Hollywood, and USA

Today. Later today an MTV camera crew will drop by The House to film a

segment on HEROES.

Knowing that our promotional efforts would generate massive customer demand,

Marvel overprinted the retailer's original orders by 50% - and HEROES still

sold-out on the first day it went on sale! In fact, after Joe's appearance

on the Today Show on Wednesday, 20,000 units alone were ordered from Diamond

between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.!

Even though Diamond Comics Distributors contacted retailers in many ways -

including a cover feature and solicitation in Diamond Dateline, a prominent

listing in the Previews order form, a mass e-mail, and a major telemarketing

effort - some retailers either missed the ordering deadline or somehow

hadn't heard of HEROES. You can do your part by asking your local retailer

to order you a copy of this historic charity project.

Once again, thanks to everyone who helped us - and continues to help us -

raise money for this most worthy cause!

'Nuff Said!
