CONSTANTINE

IAmRogue spoke with "Constantine" executive producer David S. Goyer about NBC's take on the character, the pilot of which will start shooting this week. While he will look a lot like the character, whether he smokes is somewhat up in the air.

"That's a tricky one on network TV," Goyer said of smoking. "We're negotiating right now. He will have his signature trench coat and skinny tie. I would say that the show clings more closely to the source material then the film did. Even though the film was interesting. … Yeah. And quite a few other characters from the comic books and possibly from the DC Universe should we move forward will be showing up. … I think we would try to bring in some of the other occult figures."

PREACHER

Speaking of Vertigo Comics adaptations, Collider spoke with Evan Goldberg, who is heading up the "Preacher" AMC series with Seth Rogen.

"We just had a meeting with AMC and Garth Ennis, who’s the writer, and we all kind of seemed to agree that we’re gonna stay as true to the comic as we can," Goldberg told Collider. "We need to change some stuff but we’re not gonna change much, I hope. We’re just gonna do a little more of the preamble instead of doing flashbacks and restructure how we dole out the information a little, but we’re gonna [do the] same characters, same story, same ending. We’re gonna try to stick to 'Preacher' as best we can. We’re making it with Sam Catlin who did 'Breaking Bad,' and so he might tell me I’m wrong about all of this and that the real way to do it is different because he’s much smarter and better at all this than I am. But we’re gonna try to stick to what it is as best we can."

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

The official Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter has posted concept art of Lorelei in Asgardian garb in anticipation of this week's episode, "Yes Men."

Speaking of "Yes Men," two new clips from the episode have hit online -- the cold open and the introduction of Sif to Coulson's S.H.I.E.L.D. team.

Zap2It spoke with Chloe Bennett about things to come for the series, including whether it might link to the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

"If anyone sees a trailer for 'Captain America,' you'll notice that SHIELD is a huge part of what is happening in the movie, just by all the talk of SHIELD and all the SHIELD logos everywhere, so definitely there's a crossover of things happening," Bennett told Zap2it. "I can't tell you how much, but I can tell you that it is insane."

Finally, Marvel.com has posted the official synopsis of upcoming episode "The End of the Beginning," which heralds the return of Bill Paxton as Agent Garrett.

"End of the Beginning" - Agents Garrett (Bill Paxton) and Triplett are back to help Coulson's team track down S.H.I.E.L.D.'S nefarious enemy--the Clairvoyant. But will Deathlok destroy them all to protect his master's identity?

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

The Hollywood Reporter has posted a recap of Marc Webb's panel at SXSW 2014, where the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" director revealed that Paul Giamatti's role as the Rhino is actually pretty minor -- he's only "in the movie for four minutes," which should allay a few concerns about the film having too many villains.

"We're obviously familiar with the complaints people had," Webb said. "We're very careful to make sure the stories intertwine. For Peter Parker, it's very important that you create obstacles that are difficult to overcome."

Comic Book Movie has posted two international trailers for the upcoming sequel. Not much new here, but worth a look if you enjoy listening to German.

Opens May 2

iZOMBIE

The CW's upcoming "iZombie" pilot has cast Robert Buckley as Major, "a former college football player-turned-environmental engineer who is extremely likable." Major is also the former fiancé of Liv, the series' protagonist. Buckley's previous credits include "One Tree Hill," "666 Park Avenue" and "Hart of Dixie."
