TRANSFORMERS

If there was any question about the Robots in Disguise coming to the big screen these two links (also from Rangerboard, taken at the Licensing 2005 show in New York) should quell all doubts.

GHOST RIDER

Speaking of the Licensing 2005 show, Rangerboard also has a first look at the Spirit of Vengeance in all his glory.

V FOR VENDETTA

With the mildest of spoilers, the International Herald Tribune is reporting that "In a rare concession, authorities here agreed to close down all of Whitehall, between Trafalgar and Parliament Squares, for a three-night film shoot earlier this month." This was for the climactic scene of the film, which follows the original story.

FANTASTIC FOUR

Rangerboard also has a picture from the new cartoon broadcasting from the Baxter Building. Meanwhile, Sneak Peek has posted some spoileresque pages from the comic adaptation of the film.

Finally, Comics Continuum talked to special effects supervisor Kurt Williams about making the Human Torch effects look believable. "There's not a lot of man on fire references out there - at least that are very impressive right now -- and that's part of the reason we're very nervous about this work," Williams said. "But at the same time we're creating him in such a way -- we're using real fire elements, and that's important. He's got to generate fire from within his body, so you're going to see the skin on his body change as he's generating that fire, and that's going to create an organic feel that will make the audience believe that he's really on fire. he other thing that we're very cognizant of, and we're going to be dealing with in this movie, is that a lot of time, a great deal takes place in exterior. And doing day exterior fire is really hard because you don't see people. And a lot of times, the mistake that people make is that they don't stay true to the actual environment. They make the fire a little more saturated than it actually would be, if we were shooting flames. We've gone to great lengths to stay true to what actual fire would look like if we were shooting in those scenarios."

SUPERMAN

The Blue Tights Network also checked out the Licensing 2005 trade show and did an extensive report on what they saw and the studio's plan for making the film dominate popular culture, as well as tossing in an image gallery to boot.

X-MEN 3

According to XMenFilms.net, "X3 director Brett Ratner has hired the highly rated Philippe Rousselot as director of photography (aka cinematographer) for 'X3.'" Rousselot is fresh off of stints on "Constantine" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Shooting starts August 2nd.

SMALLVILLE

Actress Erica Durance has been announced as a guest at the Canadian National Expo this August in Toronto.
