"The Wire" and "House of Cards" actor Reg E. Cathey has been cast as Dr. Storm in "Fantastic Four."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox has cast "The Wire" alum Reg E. Cathey in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot as Dr. Storm, father to Michael B. Jordan's Johnny Storm and Kate Mara's Sue Storm.

Though best known for his role on "The Wire" as Norman Wilson, Cathey has also appeared in the critically acclaimed Netflix original "House of Cards" as Freddy Hayes and "Grimm" as Baron Samedi. Oddly enough, Cathey has prior connections with both his onscreen children already -- Jordan got his start on "The Wire" and Mara featured prominently in "House of Cards'" first season.

"Fantastic Four" is currently filming in Louisiana and is set for a June 19, 2015 theatrical release. Directed by Trank with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, the reboot also stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder.
