"LEGO Batman" has tackled Gotham City and teamed up with the other heroes of the DC Universe -- now, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games are taking the battle into space in "LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham." The newest LEGO game will see Batman join forces with the heroes and villains of the DCU to battle Brainiac, who has used the power of the Lantern Rings to shrink worlds.
"Building on the incredibly successful LEGO Batman franchise, we are working to make 'LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham'; the ultimate super hero videogame this year for all ages," said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games via press release. "The TT Games team is bringing LEGO Batman and an astounding amount of characters from the DC Comics universe to the next frontier with a new epic story, more gadgets and unexpected challenges."
According to the press release, players will have the opportunity to unlock more than 150 unique characters -- including members of the Justice League, Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy -- and explore iconic DC locations including the Hall of Justice, the Batcave and the JLA Watchtower; and judging from the trailer, it will continue to keep the signature humor of the LEGO video game series.
The game is slated for a Fall 2014 release, which means two major Batman games will actually release this year -- the highly anticipated "Batman: Arkham Knight" is slated for release in October.
"LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham" will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.
