GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

James Gunn has posted a "Guardians of the Galaxy" update to Facebook, but it has very little to do with the actual production of the film. It's much more of a personal piece for Gunn, reflecting on what it will be like to stop working on a project to which he's dedicated the last two years of his life.

In terms of promotion for the film, Skype is running a couple contests with a chance to join a group video call with the cast and crew, as well as some pieces of promotional art to use as Skype avatars.

Opens August 1

THE WALKING DEAD

Collider spoke with "The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple about many aspects of AMC's beloved television franchise and the overall structure of the upcoming fifth season.

"It’s not mirroring [the previous season] completely," Gimple told Collider. "The challenge of the show is every eight episodes, it’s a whole new show. I will say that there may be some slightly familiar structural turns. But for the most part, it is going to be brand new versions of the comic story."

Returns to AMC this Fall

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (via ComingSoon.net) has posted a new photo of Henry Cavill on the set of "Batman V Superman," decked out in his alter-ego garb of mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent.

CONSTANTINE

According to recent reports, John Constantine is not allowed to smoke on network television, and thus will not be puffing on cigarettes in NBC's "Contstantine."

"It’s the one thing -- a compromise, I guess," "Constantine" pilot director Neil Marshall told Collider. "On network it’s the one thing you can’t smoke on network. That’s one of his character traits. We’re working around that. We’re trying to get aspects of it in there as much as possible. We’ll see."

Airs this Fall on NBC

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Comic Book Movie has dug up a few behind-the-scenes photos from the set of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that feature Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans in the middle of the woods. There's also a photo of a giant cannon-type gun.

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION

Although there have been a series of scathing reviews for the latest film in the "Transformers" franchise, The Hollywood Reporter states that the film is the first of the year to hit $100 million in box office gross for its domestic launch. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" also broke records in China, gaining the top opening weekend of all time with $93 million.

/Film spoke with the film's writer Ehren Kruger, who discussed director Michael Bay's goal when helming movies.

"You have to understand, with a big summer movie like this, especially this franchise, [Michael Bay] doesn’t quite look at it like competing with movies. He looks at it like 'should I go see 'Transformers,' or spend a day at Six Flags?'" Kruger told /Film. "There’s a big spectacle quality to it that he is promising, and that is one of the things that makes this franchise different than your X-Men, Spider-Man, or Planet of the Apes films. It’s something this series does that is its own style. That is all part of the package. Some days, it’s like writing a Cirque du Soleil show."

Now in theaters
