IDW Publishing is set to further its roster of licensed titles this October, and CBR has the exclusive first details on two of the biggest projects.

The four-issue "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters" series, as labeled, sees the writing team of "Ghostbusters" scribe Erik Burnham and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" co-writer Tom Waltz pair two of IDW's most prominent licensed properties. The miniseries will be illustrated by Dan Schoening, artist of IDW's "Ghostbusters" series that wraps in September. Schoening drew the standard cover for #1, with a subscription variant by T-Rex Jones.

Also out from IDW in October: the first-ever "Edward Scissorhands" comic book series, based on Tim Burton's beloved 1990 film. The five-issue miniseries will be written by cartoonist Kate Leth, recently announced as the writer of BOOM! Studios' "Fraggle Rock," and illustrated by Drew Rausch, whose past credits include SLG Publishing's "Eldritch!" Covers for issue #1 come courtesy of "Locke & Key" and "Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland" artist Gabriel Rodriguez (standard) "Star Wars: Legacy" artist and co-writer a href="/tag/gabriel+hardman">Gabriel Hardman (subscription variant).

"Working on a new story is always exciting," Rausch said in a statement to CBR. "Having the opportunity to tell the next chapter for one of the best movies to come from the imagination of such an incredible influence in your artistic life is like a fairy tale come true! Having such a great fondness for this movie, I know that the story Kate, Sarah and I came up with is going to be 'shear' enjoyment for all types of fans!"

"Drew's right on the money with this -- we're thrilled to be working on one of our favorite spooky stories," Leth added. "Bringing back Edward and creating new characters and situations for him to play with is an incredible amount of fun, and a huge opportunity for all of us. We're weird kids who grew up loving fractured fairy tales, and this feels pretty right for all of us."
