SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller discussed the entirety of "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" and the two new "Sin City" stories -- "Nancy's Last Dance" and "The Long Bad Night" -- that have never been seen in comics.

"After working with Jessica [Alba] and really loving the relationship between Jessica and Bruce [Willis], Frank was already talking about this new story that he was inspired to do following what happens afterwards," Rodriguez said. "So we said, 'Okay -- that has to be one of the stories. And that's kind of a cool idea, that people can't just go buy a book and know what's going to happen. Let's do another new story.' And I challenged him to come up with another character, and to make it easy, whenever he'd come down to Austin to visit I would ask him about it and I would secretly tape anything he said in case that was it. And he said, 'Yeah, well, I'm kind of thinking about this character named Johnny and he's got this coin and he can't lose.' And I was like, 'Okay, here we go!'"

Variety has also posted a story about Prime Focus World, the vfx studio and equity partner on "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For."

"They took this on so they could show they could do this kind of work. It was a lot for a single company to take on," Rodriguez told Variety. "They were the underdog, trying to compete with these big f/x houses, and at the end of the day, they delivered."

It's a very interesting piece beyond the comments from Rodriguez, and notes that the two vfx companies that were best known for swapping services for equity no longer exist. Both went bankrupt. If "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" flops, Prime Focus World could suffer a "significant loss."

IMDB has posted a new clip for "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" featuring Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta and Juno Temple.

CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

SFX Magazine spoke with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America 3" screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and how the tone of "Captain America 3" might follow in the footsteps of "The Winter Soldier."

"We are working on something that I think is an amalgalm [of the two]," Markus told SFX.

"When we hit upon the Brubaker run of the comic book, we all said that, with certain exceptions, that's the tone of Cap’s modern franchise," McFeeley said. "And you can imagine that with us back, with the Russos back, then if you like 'Winter Soldier' you’ll hopefully like the third one, if we do it right!"
