The CBR staff has been super busy, with tons of details about a set visit to the mutant minded movie. UGO has posted the new trailer for the upcoming Spike TV series.
According to Variety (subscription required), Warner Bros. Pictures is already planning the next installments to Batman Begins and Superman Returns, with respective helmers Christopher Nolan and Bryan Singer in line to return. The studio has hired Jonah Nolan -- Christopher's brother -- to write the screenplay for the untitled "Batman" project. The studio has options on "Begins" star Christian Bale and "Returns" star Brandon Routh. "Batman" and "Superman" sequels could make their debut in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Legendary Pictures, which put up half the financing for both "Begins" and "Returns," is expected to board the sequels and split the budgets 50/50 with Warner Bros. In return, Legendary would split all profits, also 50/50.
Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie has a rumor that if Brandon Routh brings home the box office moolah, it could mean that actress Mischa Barton will end up in a cape and a mini skirt. The site says, "'If 'Superman Returns' does as well as expected this summer then 'Supergirl will be pushed into the schedule,' reveals one movie insider. 'There are a few actresses in the reckoning and Mischa is at the top of that list.'"
