Official Press Release

Los Angeles Humanoids Publishing has increased its

staff in its Los Angeles office by hiring Managing Editor, Paul Benjamin.

Benjamin will be editing the U.S. publishing line for Humanoids and also

working with to develop the Humanoids library for all media. Benjamin will

also work to produce movie and television projects based on Humanoids

properties.

"I'm really excited to be working at Humanoids," Benjamin said. "Right now,

there are more quality comics available than ever before, and I am looking

forward to sharing the incredible Humanoids stories and art with fans. I am

especially excited about re-launching the Metal Hurlant anthology book. I've

already seen some great ideas from some of comics' best creators worldwide

and there are more coming in every day. I hope that the dual nature of my

position will help create a synergy between the publishing side of the

company and the film and television side so that the Humanoids properties

can be shared with an even broader audience."

Benjamin began his comics career at Malibu Comics, working as the assistant

to the president of the company, Scott Rosenberg. He next worked at Warner

Bros. before rejoining Scott Rosenberg at his newly formed company, Platinum

Studios. As Platinum's Vice President, Creative Affairs, Benjamin worked

closely with writers and artists to develop movie and television concepts

based on Platinum's library of European, American and original properties.

This led to deals on a number of comic book projects at DreamWorks,

Universal, Dimension, New Line, Miramax, and Showtime/MGM. This included

Jeremiah, which is currently in production for 20-episodes and is being

written and executive produced by J. Michael Straczynski.

Benjamin's relationship with Humanoids began when he became Vice President,

Content Development for an Internet company called AirTightPlanet.

AirTightPlanet was a co-venture joining Hollywood directors Ridley Scott,

Tony Scott and Renny Harlin with the Humanoids Group. There, Benjamin

produced a series of "Graphic Stories", Internet adaptations of the

Humanoids properties, before joining Humanoids in his current capacity.

Trade paperbacks, comics, and hardcover albums currently available from

Humanoids Publishing include: The Metabarons, From Cloud 99, The Incal,

Negative Exposure, Son Of The Gun, TechnoPriests, The White Lama and others.

Humanoids Publishing is a division of The Humanoids Group, with offices in

Paris, Brussels, Saigon, Geneva and Los Angeles. The Humanoids Group is a

multi-faceted conglomerate headed by chairman Fabrice Giger. Humanoids

features subsidiaries that include an internationally renowned graphic

novel/comic book publishing house, a 3-D animation and visual effects

studio, an animation software development company and an entity currently

developing interactive, role-playing computer games.
