Official Press Release

The grades are in, and they passed with flying colors. So the Freshmen will be back for the next school year!

Top Cow Productions is reuniting with co-creators Seth Green and Hugh Sterbakov for a new Freshmen comic series in late 2006. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the April 12 release of the Freshmen paperback, collecting all six issues of the uproarious college-meets-superpowers mini-series. A huge groundswell of fan support for the first series has led to the second.

"I've been blown away by the critical response to Freshmen, and I absolutely can't wait to get started on the sequel," said writer Hugh Sterbakov. "Our kids are going to face a dark new nemesis and a gigantic romantic conflict that will cause bitter enemies within the group. Mark my words: Freshmen II will be our Empire Strikes Back!"

Co-creator and Buffy and Austin Powers actor Seth Green agreed. "We are very excited to continue Freshmen with Top Cow," Green said. "After the great response to the first mini-series, we've been looking forward to telling another chapter of this story. And believe me-you have no idea what's coming. It's awesome!"

The Freshmen vol. 1 paperback is currently on-sale, and just launched with a major release party and signing featuring Green and Sterbakov at Coliseum of Comics, a major Florida retail chain. "After introducing hundreds of new fans to Freshmen at our 'Graduation Party," we're anxiously awaiting a new chapter in this quirky and fun series!" said Coliseum owner Phil Boyle. "Hugh and Seth have delivered something different in a superhero team and that's a tough thing to do on a crowded comic shelf."
