This just in: Artist/writer Michael Golden, creator of X-Men's Rogue, will be appearing at the Motor City Comic Con October 14-15th in a rare convention appearance.
"I'm pleased to announce that the good folks at Motor City jumped on the chance to have Golden as a guest," said Renee Witterstaetter of EvaInk . "It's not often that we get Michael out from behind the drawing board, and since this is his first trip to the area, it should be a blast."
Know for his detailed pencil work on "The 'Nam," "Micronauts," "G.I. Joe Yearbook," and "Dr. Strange #55, " among many more, Golden will be signing comics and doing sketches at the show. "He was absolutely one of the hits at the recent Baltimore Comic Con, with Yahoo Groups springing up just to display his con sketches," continued Witterstaetter. "I think the fans at Motor City will be pleased to meet him as well."
A groundbreaking artist, notable milestones in Golden's career includes work on practically every character in the comics lexicon as well as the creation of "Spartan X" with Jackie Chan, and the creation of "Bucky O'Hare" with Larry Hama. The later inspired an animated series and toy line designed by Michael, while Vanguard Productions is currently planning a Manga version of the series to be released later this year. Eva Ink will put out the signed edition.
Currently finishing a series for Image Comics, and the personal "Tunuki" project, and beginning a plethora of covers for Marvel and Dynamic Forces, Golden is emerging on the comics scene in a big way, with Motor City one of the first stops.
