Official Press Release

Comic book writer and artist, George Broderick, Jr. will again be donating his time and talents to help those less fortunate at this year's MID-OHIO-CON. He's bringing along some new Christmas friends to help share the joy of holiday giving, along with a special exclusive gift to share in the holiday festivities. When you stop by his table and make a donation of $5.00 or more to the CHARITY JAR, you not only get to help fund the work of the American Diabetes Association, you will receive a Mid-Ohio-Con exclusive -- a signed and numbered 11 X 17 mini-poster, featuring Broderick's newest creation, Christmas Eve – The First Lady Of Yuletide Cheer

"Christmas and charity are the perfect fit" states Broderick, "and I'm happy to be helping raise money for Diabetes education & research, yet again ! This has become somewhat of an annual event for me. Roger Price and his crew always put on a great, family-friendly show and attendees have always been MORE than generous with their giving to this worthy cause and I'm hoping this trend continues."

"It's the perfect kick-off to the Christmas season, the season of giving!" continues Broderick, "this year I'll be premiering my new FULL-COLOR book, The Ballad of Christmas Eve and to mark the occasion, I decided to offer the full-color poster as a charity giveaway, signed and numbered, limited to 100, a Mid-Ohio-Con EXCLUSIVE. Recent advances in the Print On Demand industry have made it very cost effective to offer both the book and poster as color items and the fine folks at Ka-Blam Print On Demand make it easy for even the most technologically stunted among us."

The Ballad of Christmas Eve tells the story of three Sugar Plum Fairies, Holly, Noel and Carol and their efforts to help Santa Claus replenish the "goodwill" in humanity by creating a symbol of Christmas niceness, Christmas Eve. Eve starts her super heroic crusade down in Girl and Boy Land (a.k.a. the real world) and it's smooth sailing until she runs afoul of arch villain, Black Peter. The story, as told by Ol' Tannenbaum, the official talking Christmas Tree, is sure to become a holiday classic. 52 pages in full-color, The Ballad of Christmas Eve retails at $5.95 and will be available ONLY at Mid-Ohio-Con '06 and online.

Five bucks for a full-color limited edition signed and numbered poster AND a chance to help find a cure for diabetes? It's a Christmas miracle!" exclaims Broderick.
