Official Press Release

With less than a week to go before MELTDOWN hits the stands, the creators of this highly anticipated new comic book are getting ready to hit the road for a cross-country tour of comic shop appearances. Members of the MELTDOWN creative team will be signing copies of the first issue from coast to coast, in and around hot spots like Los Angeles, Miami and Boston.

The initial leg of the tour includes:

Wednesday, December 6: DJ's Universal Comics, Studio City, CA

Wednesday, December 6: Golden Apple Comics, Los Angeles, CA

Wednesday, December 6: Modern Myths, Northampton, MA

Thursday, December 7: New England Comics, Brockton, MA

Saturday, December 9: Things From Another World, Universal CityWalk,

Studio City, CA

Wednesday, December 20: Meltdown Comics, Los Angeles, CA

Saturday, December 23: Outland Station, Miami, FL

Thursday, December 28: SuperHeroes Unlimited, North Miami Beach, FL

Saturday, December 30: Tate's Comics, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

With more dates to be added soon in New York, Las Vegas, and elsewhere.

MELTDOWN writer David B. Schwartz will be signing at the California and Florida appearances, and artist Sean Wang will be signing in Massachusetts. The two creators will be signing together only once - at the December 20th appearance at, appropriately enough, Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles.

"We're really psyched that so many retailers have embraced MELTDOWN," said Schwartz, "and we can't wait to get out there and meet all of the great comic book fans who've generated so much excitement and support for the book."

"And just to make sure we don't give our carpal tunnel too much recovery time," adds Wang, "we're already working on lining up more signings for the release of Book 2 in January!"

MELTDOWN tells the story of a reluctant super-hero whose own fire- based powers are killing him; melting him down from within. He's only got 7 days left to put his life in order, and to make amends for all of his regrets. The script is by Schwartz, artwork is by Wang (creator of the smash-hit indie comic "Runners"), colors by Guru-eFX, with covers by industry superstars Chris Bachalo and Greg Horn. Issue one debuts on December 6th at comic shops everywhere. Both issues of MELTDOWN are 48 pages, prestige format, with no ads.
