Official Press Release

Artist/writer Michael Golden, co-creator of X-Men's Rogue, sat down with World Talk Radio's Vincent Zurzolo on January 10th for an in-depth discussion of Michael's projects past and future; his influences and his beginning in the business of comics and illustration.

Know for his detail oriented rendering on "The 'Nam," "Micronauts," "G.I. Joe Yearbook," and "Dr. Strange #55, " among many, many more, Golden brings a unique vision to all of his work, that he seems rather humble to explain. "I'm glad it resonates with people," he says.

"It's just a job," Golden tells Zurzolo. Michael explains that even with artists such as Normal Rockwell, he feels sure that Rockwell approached each painting just "as a job." A way to pay the bills. But, it was that uniqueness inside the individual--whatever that is-- which made something that could have been, in other hands, just a throw away piece of advertising art, into something that elicits emotion and response. Rockwell transcended the ordinary, as Golden also strives to do. "I think people give me assignments because they want me to Golden-ize it, whatever that means," he laughs.

Golden also discusses his upcoming and current projects, which include covers for "Nightwing," "Batman," "Heroes for Hire," "Classic Battlestar Gallactica," and "Iron Man" as well as covers for paperback novels. Other projects include "Excess: Michael Golden-Comics Inimitable Storyteller and How He Does It" from Vanguard Productions, as well as the long awaited "Heroes and Villains" sketchbook from Image Comics/Eva Ink.

World Talk Radio has also announced that you can still hear the full interview with Michael Golden and his agent, Renee Witterstaetter, conducted by Vincent Zurzolo, if you missed it live. Just go to:
