New York-It may be taking place during one of the coldest months of the year, but you couldn't tell it by the heat generated from Michael Golden's exclusive Vampirella poster for the New York Comic Con!

NYCC selected this "red hot" piece from Golden's portfolio to be an official herald for their convention taking place at the end of February. The poster itself is gracing comic shops and retail outlets around the city...assuming folks at the stores didn't decide to take Vampy home instead.

But never fear! If you don't get a chance to see her about town, you still have a chance to have this poster for your very own wall. As a special promotion in addition to what NYCC has planned for the piece, Michael Golden will be on hand each day of the show in artist's alley with a limited number of Vampy's-75 a day-- available signed and numbered by the artist!

It seems that Golden is back on the comics scene in a big way, in a year that will see him on "Iron Man," "Nightwing," "Batman," "Hero for Hire," and "Classic Battlestar Gallactica" covers among many others. While a plethora of books and interviews are also in the works as Vanguard Productions has just announced "Excess: The Art of Michael Golden-Comics Inimitable Storyteller (and How He Does It)," and Modern Masters has just announced that Golden will be the newest artist in their in-depth "Modern Masters in the Studio" DVD series.

Just accepted into the august Society of Illustrators in Manhattan, Golden is know for his mind-boggling and influential work on "The 'Nam," "Micronauts," "G.I. Joe," and "Dr. Strange, " among much more, as well as being the co-creator of Rogue from the "X-Men."

The New York Comic Con will take place February 23-25 in New York City at the Jacob Javits Center. Go to: www.nycomiccon.com for more details.
