Official Press Release
London – NOMINATIONS are invited for this year's Eagle Awards, which have moved into the 21st century with a online voting system. Nominees can now designate their 2006 favourites in 28 different categories at www.eagleawards.co.uk/nominate.asp
Ever evolving, in order to offer a broader spectrum of the industry, this year voters will be asked to select from the top five nominees in each of the 28 categories. Nominations, which are once again open to the comics reading public worldwide, close at midnight on Sunday, February 25. Voting is to begin five days later with the winners announced at the Bristol International Comic Expo on Saturday, May 12 2007. The highlight of Britain's premiere comics event, the awards are to be held at Bristol's Ramada Plaza Hotel where the ceremony is to be hosted by top comedian Norman Lovett, the original Holly from Red Dwarf.
The presentation is to be preceded by the traditional gala dinner. With demand for tickets always high, early booking is highly recommended. Reservations can be made through Martin 'Biff' Averre, who can also provide further details. He can be contacted via email at email@example.com or by telephone on 01206 364140 (011-44-1206 364140 from North America).
Also new for 2007, the Eagles now have their very own message forum, where discussion is taking place on all aspects of the awards including suggestions for who and what might garner nominations next year. All are welcome at www.eagleawards.co.uk
