On February 21, MySpace will host Black Curtain screenings of the highly anticipated film 300 in Chicago, San Francisco, and Toronto. Friends of the Black Curtain profile and the 300 movie profile will have the unique opportunity to see the movie for free, more than two weeks before 300 is officially released. 300 will open in theatres nationwide on March 9. 300 fans should plan to arrive early as attendance is first come, first serve.
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Bulter) and 300 Spartans fought to death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.
The screenings will be held in state-of-the art IMAX theatres where 300 fans will experience the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience. This is the first MySpace Black Curtain screening in an IMAX theatre.
At each Black Curtain screening, 300 director Zack Synder will show a filmed introduction and behind-the-scenes look at the film which includes never-before-seen footage exclusive to Black Curtain screenings. After the screenings, the featurette will be posted on the Black Curtain profile at www.myspace.com/blackcurtain. A special edition book which chronicles the making of the film, 300: The Art of the Film, by Dark Horse Comics and signed by the director will be given away to a few lucky attendees at each screening.
