Official Press Release

Platinum Studios is proud to announce that Unique, written by award-winning writer Dean Motter (Mister X, Terminal City ) and penciled / inked by Dennis Calero (X-Factor), will hit comic book shelves on March 28, 2007.

The three-part miniseries tells the story of Jon Geoffries who thinks he's seeing things that aren't there -- until he discovers that he's slipping into an alternate world! Jon is a Unique, one of the few people with no counterpart on any other parallel Earth, enabling him to move between worlds at will. But now that ability has made him a target...

"While Unique was written as a contemporary science-fiction thriller, I endeavored to create a timeless story that hearkened back, in some ways, to our favorite Twilight Zone and Outer Limits episodes, as well films such as Spellbound and Vertigo," said Motter. "I am thrilled that Platinum has offered me the opportunity to explore some of my favorite playgrounds once more; architecture, paranoia, psycho-pharmacy, betrayal, twisted ambitions and surreal conspiracies. I couldn't have pulled it off without the pitch-perfect artwork of collaborative illustrator Dennis Calero."

The book is also launching with a six-page preview on DrunkDuck.com (http://www.drunkduck.com/Unique/), starting March 21, 2007. This preview will run a page a day (Wednesday-Wednesday) leading up to March 28, when the book will be on sale.

The first Unique book is value-priced, at $2.99 for 48 full-color pages.

"Both Dean and Dennis are amazingly talented," said Platinum Studios Comics Editor in Chief Jim McLauchlin. " library and what can be done with it."
