Georgia's Columbus State's Nerdacon Supports The Hero Initiative

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 23, 2007) – March 24 th is the date of the first annual Nerdacon at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. From 10 am to 11 pm, at Davidson Student Center, come support this gaming, popular arts (art, film, comics, music and literature) and crafts convention.

The Campus Nerds organization is hosting Nerdacon and has selected The Hero Initiative to benefit from a portion of its proceeds.

Some tournaments and contests include Guitar Hero II - Sponsored by RedOctane, Gears of War tournament – Hosted by Kappa Sigma with proceeds going to Children's Miracle Network, Super Smash Brothers, Naruto 4, MechWarrior, HeroClix, HorrorClix, Magic: The Gathering, Mystical Empire, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Costume Contests for both children and adults.

Some other features include Martial Arts Demonstrations, Vendors Area, Art Displays and vendors, Panels, Local bands, Face Painting and AMV showings.

The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work.
