Last July, CBR News brought you the first word on a new spy/thriller called "Left on Mission" by writer Chip Mosher. At the time, the book was in its earliest stages, not completed and looking for a publisher at Comic-Con International. Then in December, word came down that Chip was successful in his efforts and "Left on Mission" had landed at Boom! Studios. Joined by artist Francesco Francavilla, the long journey "Left on Mission" has taken from concept to print will go into it's final stage when the first issue of the five-issue mini-series is released next Wednesday.

CBR News in conjunction with MySpace Comic Books is proud to offer up this exclusive preview of "Left on Mission" #1. CBR is hosting the first half of this extra length preview and we'll hand things over to Chip for an introduction.

Hey, Chip Mosher here and this is my book,"Left on Mission." When I sat down to write this thing, I knew I wanted to write the kind of comic I loved to read - something with great action, great characters, great story, something that makes you think, something that really takes advantage of the medium, but mostly something you just couldn't put down. Well, with the help of BOOM! Studios, the incredible artistry of Francesco Francavilla, the color palette of Martin Thomas and inspirational covers by Steph Stamb, I think we accomplished just that.

So here's a taste of the first issue of my five-issue mini-series "Left on Mission." Take a gander, if you like what you see, pick it up.

Writing a comic is something I've dreamed about doing since I was little kid. So, here's a little piece of my dream. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
