Oscar winner Nicolas Cage has auctioned off his comic collection, including first appearances of Superman, Robin and the Justice Society of America, for over $1.6 million.
As previously reported by CBR News, Cage, 38, announced his plans to auction off his collection this past weekend at Dallas Comicon.
Cage's copy of "Action Comics" #1, featuring the first appearance of Superman, brought in $86,250. "Detective Comics" #38, featuring the first appearance of Robin, sold for $132,250. "All-Star Comics" #3, featuring the first appearance of a superhero team, in this case the JSA, sold for $45,000.
Cage won the best actor Oscar for his star turn in "Leaving Las Vegas."
