More than just a pretty face: Deodato shows off the harder edges of 'Witches'

Last week at this time, Mike Deodato was showing off the women of "Witches," his new Marvel Comics ongoing starting this September.

Wednesday, Deodato peppered the Comic Wire with previews of the other characters appearing in "Witches" beyond the three heroines of the title (Topaz, Satana and Jennifer Kale).

The images in today's preview include Jennifer's brother, Andy, whose opening a book of mystic lore and freeing a dangerous demon sets the series in motion. The three sisters are brought together by Dr. Strange to stop the demon and recover the book. Topaz is the former girlfriend of the Jack Russell, the Werewolf by Night. And how the ancient and evil Lilith figures into the series has yet to be revealed.
